50 years of proximity switches and the official opening of our new administration building

Pepperl+Fuchs stands for successful pioneering work and constant innovation! In 1958 – exactly 50 years ago – the company made a name for itself, as a pioneer. It was then that the inductive proximity switch was invented in the Pepperl+Fuchs laboratory. Innovation, skill and continuous peak performance has enabled Pepperl+Fuchs to write this chapter of success in our history.
Members of the two founding families of the company, company management and invited guests celebrated the 50th birthday on 16th September, 2008 at the “Landesmuseum für Technik und Arbeit” in Mannheim, Germany. At a press conference held the same day, the specialist press was invited to update its information on current activities in the company’s Factory and Process Automation Divisions.

The new Pepperl+Fuchs administration building at 200 Lilienthalstraße in Mannheim
An additional cause for celebration by the family firm is the official opening of the new administration building at the Mannheim-Schönau location. The building work commenced in April 2007. By May 2008, 175 employees had already moved into the new accommodations. The new building provides working accommodation for approximately 240 employees on four floors, with a total surface area of more than 7,000 m². Pepperl+Fuchs now welcomes its guests in new foyer areas and is able to organize meetings and conferences for 6 to 150 persons in 16 modern meeting rooms.
On 20th September – coinciding with the opening of the Oktoberfest in Munich – Pepperl+Fuchs held its own Oktoberfest on the Mannheim company site. The business partners and company management declared it was “Happy Hour”! They thanked the workforce for their commitment and maximum effort in recent years. The high point of the event was a firework display over the Oktoberfest tent. With motivated employees, Pepperl+Fuchs now aims to continue to write its history of success!
