DIN-compliant sensors for automatic doors

Beginning July 1, 2006, automatic doors in Germany must meet the requirements defined in the German standard DIN 18650. Pepperl+Fuchs provides door sensors specifically developed for the safety of persons and objects that meet this standard.

The TopScan-S active infrared photoelectric sensor, for example, is one of the first TÜV tested devices certified to DIN 18650. Modular photoelectric sensors fit into a track and are readily set for beam position and angle, operation modes, and left or right edge monitoring. It is ideal for swinging doors.
