Industrial Purge and Pressurization - Enclosure Solution
Innovations with Series 6000
6000 series purge and pressurization system
The 6000 series is the most advanced purge/pressurization system ever and can handle just about any application challenge. All exposed parts are built of 316L (UNS31603) stainless steel, and an IP66 stainless steel enclosure houses the controller, pneumatic, electrical I/O, and programming interface so that you won’t need to worry when the 6000 is installed on an oil platform or in refineries where corrosive or potentially explosive environments exist.
With the 6000, it’s no longer necessary to have different purge control systems for different applications. This system is designed to remove and prevent the accumulation of flammable gas, vapors, and even dust. It can be used in a wide range of industries that include oil and gas, refineries, pharmaceuticals, food, and petrochemicals, and it’s internationally approved for use anywhere in the world, in safety applications up to SIL 2 with SIL 3 options.
Speaking of using the 6000 anywhere in the world, the unit has IECEx certification. Why is IECEx so important? Many countries operate under different standards; they have their own national standards and certification schemes. So, moving Ex equipment between countries means that it has to be retested and recertified to the appropriate standards of that country. IECEx certification eliminates the need for duplicate testing and certification and makes international trade easier, quicker, and more cost effective.
What’s really interesting about the 6000 is that it incorporates all of the great features of our previous designs; plus it’s added an impressive list of features that were most requested by our customers.
To start, the 6000 is self-calibrating, no special training is required to install or operate the system, and no special tooling is necessary. It’s smaller, and it weighs less than previous versions. The intuitive programming screen allows you to configure the system to meet your specific application needs. All information on flow, pressure, and status of the system is displayed on the LCD screen. It’s much easier to monitor the system status.
The user interface is intrinsically safe and easily accessible, making programming even simpler with diagnostics for reviewing start-up and operational parameters. It allows programming of up to four switch inputs, temperature modules, enclosure power contacts, two auxiliary outputs and various operational functions. The outputs can provide different alarm signals as preventive messages—when the pressure drops in the pressurized enclosure, for example. Also, the 6000 can be used with enclosures as large as 7,01 cubic meters (250 cubic feet) of volume. Different enclosure volumes are easily set using the interface, which, by the way, is password protected. A simulation software demonstrating the easy-to-use interface is in development. The software will be released in September, 2009. It will be available as a free download on our website.
If you need to custom fit the new purge and pressurization system to your enclosure, the 6000 series is also available in a cost-effective component kit modular version.
The days of self-made purge and pressurization solutions and cumbersome configuration are over. Easy specifying, ordering, installation, set-up, and operation make the 6000 series system a winner!
