Ideas Turning into Innovations
Ways to success
The path an idea goes down until it is a real innnovation is unforeseeable and can take several decades. Great powers of endurance are in demand to achieve the implementation of an idea. It also can happen that the initial idea is the "ignition spark" of innovations the creative mind didn't think of. Whether by accident or as an optimization, innovations positively influence each other and enable further ideas, developments, and innovations in several technology tracks.
For any implementation, there is one golden rule: If problem solvers (manufacturers) and users (customers) work together on a joint solution which works in practice - ideas will become innovations.
As an example, our history presents great innovations that have been realized together with our customers:
In 1956, Pepperl+Fuchs' first transducers, which are controlled via intrinsically safe supplied contacts, were designed.
Two years later, in 1958, we introduced the first inductive sensor as a control circuit for the transducer. The innovation paths for intrinsic safety and semiconductor technology were combined – and industrial sensor technology was born. Now, industrial sensors are one of the success pillars of our modern automation technology.
With these small, but fundamental inventions, further developments could take place.
Today, new innovation paths have started and are on their way to success: WirelessHART and DART Fieldbus.
