The handheld barcode reader PScan-M of our PowerScan family transmits captured data to the base station. Both components are designed for hazardous areas. Power supply is provided by a charger located in the safe area.
PScan-M is suitable for all commonly used 1D barcodes and is designed for the use under rough conditions. The robust design with recessed display and protected scanner window guarantees that the device will function even after a fall from a height of two meters. The maximum reading distance of 1,100 meters meets customer requirements for capturing operating data or logistic purposes in industrial environments.
Due to patented Puzzle Solve™ technology, damaged or dirty barcodes can be identified. The newly designed aiming function allows precision scanning of closely positioned barcodes at the maximum reading distance. The barcode reader does this by projecting a point of light onto the code it is about to read. The read command is then issued. If the code is read successfully, it is confirmed by two LEDs located on the top and rear cover. There is also an audible acknowledgement.
Using a junction box, the base station can be connected to a host computer located in the safe area up to 150 meters away. Alternatively, it can also be used in combination with TERMEX operator panels or VisuNet operator workstations from Pepperl+Fuchs.
