Segment Coupler for PROFIBUS DP/PA:
Redundant Configuration for All DCS Systems
New FieldConnex® Segment Coupler by Pepperl+Fuchs with best-in-class system availability.
The modular Power Hub family extends now to PROFIBUS closing the final link in system availability: Redundant configurations of the Gateway including Flying Redundancy. The Power Hub continues the tradition of features established by the family of SK1 and SK2 segment couplers, like transparency: All PA field devices appear to the DCS like native DP-slaves—no extra configuration required.
Segment Coupler Power Hub
One PA-Master for each of the four segments connectable to the Power Hub takes care of your critical data transmissions to PROFIBUS DP, which can connect with up to 12 MBps. The motherboard-based design makes installation in Class I/Div. 2 or zone 2 a snap on the DIN-Rail and wiring outright simple.
Simplex or Redundant
Plug-in power modules with and without galvanic isolation are also available in simplex or redundant configuration. They deliver 17/ 23/30 V and 500 mA in simplex or redundant configuration. FISCO, FNICO or Entity: Your choice of explosion protection is possible with the FieldConnex® Power Hub and energy-limiting components FieldBarrier or Segment Protector giving you maximum cable length and number of devices in the field.
Crosstalk and Resonance Suppression Technology (CREST) consists of smart electronic circuits making communication most reliable. Power supply efficiency leads to low heat dissipation of typically less than 2 Watts per module. Your marshalling cabinets will have the highest packing density. This technology often obsoletes the demand for forced cooling.
Status Monitoring
Diagnostic functions provide self-supervision, monitoring for bulk power status and overload conditions with annunciation to the control and maintenance system. Maintenance staff can stay ahead and keep production alive.
Best of all: Upgradeability to Advanced Diagnostics featuring physical layer analysis, communications monitoring and a powerful oscilloscope function with remote access right at the maintenance station. This soon to be ready offering comprises plug-in modules, FDT/DTM-based software and training for you to get the best of your fieldbus communication during plant start-up, operation and troubleshooting. The new Pepperl+Fuchs Power Hub for PROFIBUS offers you all of this for use in hazardous area applications.
