Ultrasonic sensor LUC-M
Compact ultrasonic instruments for no-contact filling state measurement of fluids, pastes, sullages and coarse bulk materials
The new ultrasonic series LUC-M expands the range of products Pepperl+Fuchs offers in non-contact filling state measurement.
Ultrasonic Sensor LUC-M
The LUC-M series consists of a total of four compact devices. These may be used for continuous non-contact filling states in fluids, pastes, sullages and coarse bulk materials The measuring ranges of the LUC-M for bulk materials are up to 7 m and for liquids up to 15 m.
The new series of instruments features a simplified menu-driven commissioning process that runs on a four-line clear text display or with PACTware™ parameterisation software. The possibility of simplified device diagnostics is available in the form of an envelope curve in the on-site display or with a remote display module.

- Max. measurement range LUC-M20: 8 m in fluids, 3,5 m in bulk materials
- Max. measurement range LUC-M30: 10 m in fluids, 5 m in bulk materials
- Max. measurement range LUC-M40: 15 m in fluids, 7 m in bulk materials
- Process temperature: - 40 °C
... + 80 °C - Ambient temperature: - 40 °C
... + 80 °C - Process pressure LUC-M10 / M 20: 3 bar absolute
- Process pressure LUC-M30 / M 40: 2,5 bar absolute
- Certificates: ATEX, FM, CSA
All four devices offer system integration via HART (4 mA ... 20 mA), PROFIBUS PA or FOUNDATION Fieldbus.
The new compact ultrasonic sensor LUC-M 40 with flange mounting (DN80/ DN100) is specially designed for non-contact fill measurements in chemically aggressive media with its hermetically welded PVDF ultrasonic sensor. The maximum measurement range is 10 m at process temperatures of - 40 °C ... + 80 °C.
The principle of ultrasonic measurement lends itself well to numerous applications, since it is almost completely independent of product properties.
