The new KC and HIC modules – Greater flexibility in a smaller place

In the context of industrial signal transmission, many customers focus a high availability of the individual measuring circuits arranged in a compact mounting situation. The new KC modules combine both demands with a module width of only 12,5 mm.

H-System

The H-System, based on termination board technology, offers flexibility coupled with the highest functionality. Preformed connector cable assemblies with multi-pin system connectors reduce the engineering and replace tedious and expensive individual manual wiring. The preparation of the associated documentation is also simplified and a reduction in the number of wiring faults reduces the time spent on commissioning.

K-System

The mounting on a 35 mm DIN rail is significant for the K-System. Power supply and batch fault messages are served via integrated Power Rail. The wide product range of interface components leaves nothing to be desired regarding signal processing.

The HIC and KC modules – Added capacity, less space

With the slim module width of only 12,5 mm the new modules of both systems reduce the cabinet space requirement down to 38 % compared to previous solutions – every third cabinet can be omitted.

By assigning each interface module to a single respective field device an higher signal availability is achieved than is the case with multi-channel applications (Single-Loop-Integrity) because a failed instrumentation circuit does not impact on other instrumentation circuits.

The extremely low power dissipation of the devices minimizes the cooling expenditure in the control box, reduces small project costs as well as maintenance costs during the entire life-cycle of the plant. Horizontal and vertical mounting of the modules is of course possible.

The analog modules allow an HART-communication between control system and the field units. Important information are modulated as a digital signal on the analog value and transmitted without additional wiring.

The new slim KC and HIC modules support all respective system features and can be combined with the multi-functional and multi-channel modules. With that the extensive accessories as for example Power Rail (K-System), HART Multiplexer, power supply units and overvoltage protection modules are available for both module families.

International approvals and functional safety in accordance to IEC 61508 without additional costs predestine the KC-Modules for the worldwide usage.
