When it comes to safety at wheelchair lifts and ramps, the Swedish company U-Lift AB trusts Pepperl+Fuchs' F99 series inclination sensors. U-Lift AB addresses the challenges of wheelchair users and people with disabilities who are frequently confronted with significant obstacles in their everyday life. The company manufactures wheelchair lifts and ramps for minibuses, vans, and track-bound vehicles that simplify travel for wheelchair users. In the van sector, U-Lift is already the market leader in Scandinavia.
U-Lift employs an innovative approach. The passenger lift is mounted on the outside of the vehicle and, therefore, takes up none of the interior space. The passengers can travel comfortably, without restrictions. The lifts also offer the passengers a high degree of safety, stability, and load-bearing capacity.
U-Lift was looking for a reliable solution which automatically ensures that the lift remains in a horizontal position at all times. In order to ensure that the ramp is level and stable, even on uneven parking surfaces and inclines, U-Lift opted for F99 series inclination sensors from Pepperl+Fuchs. These always ensure a horizontal position of the ramp and prevent a dangerous inclined position.
The F99 inclination sensor is mounted directly on the ramp. Regardless of whether the vehicle is facing uphill, downhill or is parked in an inclined position, lowering is always vertical, in order to prevent any risk of tipping over.
U-Lift was particularly impressed by the high resilience and impermeability of the F99 inclination sensor.
