I/O Hubs

IO-Link masters with multiple ports are often used for applications in which several devices are to be connected to one industrial Ethernet block. If users want to integrate discrete standard sensors into the intelligent network, they can use so-called I/O hubs.

This comparatively inexpensive solution allows users to connect several standard sensors at once to an I/O hub. Due to the integrated I/O-Link interface, they can be connected to the IO-Link master so that only a single port of the IO-Link master is occupied. In this way, a high number of digital I/Os are integrated into the IO-Link communication channel in an uncomplicated and economical manner, while at the same time reducing cable and possible wiring errors. Another advantage of the I/O hubs is that only one cable is required for both the power supply and communication.

Pepperl+Fuchs offers devices in various sizes and housing materials to meet any application requirement. The I/O hubs in the particularly compact CB10 housing design can be integrated even in the smallest spaces, such as operator push button boxes or stack lights. The devices are also available in the G60A design with a robust, encapsulated metal housing and extended temperature range for applications in harsh industrial conditions.
