Details: ISCM8100

Function

The ISCM Remote I/O ComUnit or gateway brings intrinsically safe inputs and outputs from sensors and actuators to the Foxboro Invensys HDLC bus.

It makes use of all the regular I/O modules and thus transports signals to and from NAMUR and switch type inputs and high power IS solenoids or even power relays. The system supplies 4 mA to 20 mA transmitters and accepts input from 20 mA current sources or temperature sensors. It drives I/P converters and proportional valves and positioners.

The HDLC hardware is familiar to Invensys I/A series users. Autoconfiguration ensures that modules register with the host as soon as they are inserted. There is no extra configuration required.

The system makes use of regular I/A series function blocks behaving like any ordinary FBM.
