Sensors with a broad light spot are suitable for the secure detection of falling objects that are not position-dependent. If this involves applications in constricted spaces, fiber optic sensors can be used with flexibly laid fiber optic cables and an array head. Unlike conventional fiber optic technology, the light beam transmitted by this fiber optic cable covers an entire plane. This means that objects that drop through the plane can be reliably detected and counted.
The corresponding SU series fiber optic sensors offer high performance and flexibility as well as simple operation and parameter assignment. Reliable counting of small parts is assured thanks to a fast reaction time of up to 30 µs.
