Pepperl+Fuchs, Inc. was recently presented with a bronze-level award in the Vision Systems category at the Fourth Annual Vision Systems Design Innovators Awards presentation, held during The Vision Show in Boston, MA. The safePXV and safePGV absolute positioning systems were recognized by a panel of esteemed experts from system integrator and end-user companies as an example of products that are making an impact in the industry.
Companies were recognized in such categories as vision systems, cameras, image sensors, connectivity, embedded vision, and R&D to name a few. Criteria used in the Innovators Awards ranking included: originality, innovation; impact on designers, systems integrators and end-users; fulfilling a need in the market that hasn't been addressed; leveraging a novel technology; and increasing productivity.
Reinventing Positioning with safePGV and safePXV
safePGV and safePXV absolute positioning systems realize safety level SIL 3/PL e with a single sensor. safePXV offers the perfect solution for linear absolute positioning, safePGV for reliable navigation of automated guided vehicles (AGVs). This new safety technology is based on a combination of 2-D read head and multi-color Data Matrix code tape. A single sensor sends data that has already been rated as safe to the PLC, resulting in an efficient system that complies with the highest safety standards.
