Multi Pixel Technology – Success Is Measurable

The Multi Pixel Technology (MPT) developed by Pepperl+Fuchs enables highly reliable and interference-free distance measurement for near-range applications. The technology combines the measuring functionality of conventional distance sensors with the proven triangulation principle.

With this geometric method, an emitter – LED or laser – emits a light beam to the target object, which reflects it back. The reflected light beam is then recaptured by a light-sensitive receiver in the sensor, the multipixel array. Depending on the position of the light spot on the receiver, the distance of the object to the sensor is calculated by geometric triangulation. This is done using intelligent software algorithms.

Due to the small-sized MPT measuring core, the precise distance measurement can be integrated into very small sensors for the first time – such as the R10x series. Benefit from their adaptability and explore the smallest distance sensors with an unprecedented power density!

DuraBeam Laser Technology – The Best of Both Worlds

Laser sensors are extremely precise, but have a shorter durability and a lower temperature range compared to LED sensors. Pepperl+Fuchs uses the best of both worlds and combines for the first time the strengths of LED sensors and laser sensors in an innovative laser technology: DuraBeam.

The powerful technology ensures an extended service life and provides the user with new possibilities – even at elevated ambient temperatures of up to 60° C.

DuraBeam also uses a special beam profile, which reflects a sharply contoured, circular light spot on an object at any time. Sensors equipped with DuraBeam laser technology are ideally suited for highly accurate detection and distance measurement of small objects.

Sensorik4.0® – Future-Proofed Automation with IO-Link

IO-Link enables continuous communication down to the sensor level. In addition to the process data, the user receives valuable diagnostic and status information. The intelligence of the sensors can be fully exploited.

The R100, R101, and R103 series photoelectric sensors are equipped with IO-Link and meet the requirements of Sensorik4.0 and the digital factory of the future.
