Pepperl+Fuchs wins German Design Award
As part of the internationally recognized German Design Award, the hazardous area-rated 5G smartphone Smart-Ex 03 from Pepperl+Fuchs receives an award in the "Special Mention" category for remarkable design achievements. In total, products and projects from 55 countries were submitted for the competition.
The German Design Award has been presented annually since 2012 for exceptional submissions in the fields of product design, communication design, and architecture. The submissions are judged by a jury of renowned design experts from business, academia, science, and the design industry.
The award ceremony will take place in January 2024.
Smart-Ex 03: High-Performance 5G Smartphone for Hazardous Areas
With the new Smart-Ex 03, Pepperl+Fuchs is taking the digitalization of processes in hazardous areas to a new level: The 5G smartphone developed in Europe combines the global support and expertise of the Pepperl+Fuchs Group with its subsidiaries ECOM Instruments, an expert in intrinsically safe mobile devices, and Aava Mobile, a specialist in industrial tablets and wireless technologies. It is therefore equipped with numerous features to meet all industry requirements—from Voice over IP (VoIP), programmable buttons, Wi-Fi only mode, remote diagnostics, and remote support to the implementation of a wide range of Industry 4.0 applications.
