Instruments in Divison 1: FieldBarrier in Purged or Explosion-Proof Enclosure
- Trunk: explosion-proof conduit with poured seals
- FieldBarrier in purged enclosure, or FieldBarrier in explosion-proof enclosure; explosion-proof seals are required within 18 inches of the enclosure.
- Spurs: intrinsically safe wiring according to NEC504
- Instruments: intrinsically safe instruments
Applications that require the FieldBarrier to be mounted in a Division 1 area can use a purged and pressurized enclosure. Standard solutions with respective certification are produced to order. Field devices connected in this scenario are intrinsically safe certified devices with Entity or FISCO parameters. Live work on the instrument is permitted.
The FieldConnex® power supply is certified for installation in a Division 2 area.
