The safe area mounted ENT-DC is an IS power supply unit and IS interface converter for the SCANEX series intrinsically safe barcode readers. It is used if the barcode readers in the hazardous Ex area are directly connected to a host computer (PC, PLC, …) in the safe area. It supports RS232, TTY and RS485 (option). It is 24V DC powered.

The ENT-DC is available in different housing versions for standard DIN-rail mount, for 19" racks and as direct wall mount housing.

The SK-Profibus ASCII interface is mounted in the safe area on a DIN-rail and connects the SCANEX barcode readers, through the ENT-DC’s serial output (RS232), with a Profibus-DP line. It is operated as a simple Profibus-DP slave interface for the ASCII character strings of the SCANEX barcode readers (maximum length: 32 bytes). The GSD files are included in the scope of supply. Function blocks for controllers are not required.

The EXOM-Dragon is an IS radio base station for the wireless Ex-Dragon M101 radio barcode reader. The base station comes with a stainless steel enclosure and is mounted in the hazardous area zone 1, 2 or 22. It can be connected directly in the hazardous area to a TERMEX operator panel, to an iPC-EX operator station, to a VISUEX Panel-PC, to a VisuNet remote monitor or via an ENT-DC to a host computer in the safe area.
